A four week baby massage instruction starts Monday 3rd August 2009 at Neal's Yard Remedies, Richmond. The course is approximately 1 hr, each week for 4 weeks, ending 24th August 2009. My name is Tania Kamenos. I qualified from the Institute of Traditional Herbal Medicine and Aromatherapy in 1997. This was in Aromatherapy with Oriental Diagnosis, which means that if you have any imbalance within your system, apart from just needing a massage, bespoke oils are blended together specifically for your needs.
My practitioners insurance is with the International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists, (I.F.P.A, who provide rigorous training and examination of therapists,as well as upholding the highest standards of practical application and professional ethics.)
Treatments include also the use of specific acupressure points or meridians, as in Shiatsu where necessary.
Holistic means that the whole person is taken into account, to help to choose the oils for the treatment. Also for example if a client has headaches for example, then there are oils that can help this, as well as pressure points that can be pressed using acupressure to help alleviate any imbalance.
Holistic Massage, apart from listening to any concerns a client may have regarding health, incorporates Swedish massage strokes, deeper massaging where necessary and pressure points as mentioned above.
