Held in Chiswick every Wednesday 19.45- 21.15

Please bring own yoga mat.

£12 per class or book a block.. £60 (pay for 5 consecutive classes upfront- get 6th class free)

Pls note, this class is closed for August 2009, due refurbishment at the Church. There are classes 22nd and 29th Jul and then again 2nd Sept and every Wed. after that.

Ashtanga yoga , also known as power yoga or dynamic yoga has its roots in India.

The primary sequence of postures have been very cleverly put together in order to first warm up the body, producing heat in the muscles, which in turn helps the further postures which involve lots of forward bending and hip opening moves. Poses are linked together through 'Vinyasa'- a union of breath and movement. It has the ability to build strength, increase endurance, release tension and create more flexibility in the entire body. This practise is for those seeking a dynamic physical practise. This form of yoga increases flexibility and massages all organs of the body. The body gets completely detoxified if you keep up the practise. Muscles get toned in a big way. It's also beneficial for cardiovascular fitness. Excess weight is reduced and joints become stronger with a wider range of motion. Even mental clarity is improved.

 

 

 

It is recommended, once proficient in the sequence to practise 5 or 6 times per week . Traditionally, Saturdays are a rest day, aswell as the full moon and the new moon days.  For women, the first 3 days of menstruation can also be rest days.
